Privacy Policy
Austin-Tetra, Inc. provides iNet Supplier Information Management Service to our
affiliates: third party licensees, and supplier business entities. This Privacy
Policy applies to users of our iNet Supplier Information Management
Registration and our Supplier Sourcing Service directory. Austin-Tetra knows
that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate
your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. This statement describes
our privacy policy. By visiting our Web site, www.austintetra.com,
you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms
and Conditions. Click here to review the most current version of our
Terms of Use.
Password Registration
In order to access some of the features of our Web site and that of our
affiliate Web sites, a user must first complete a Password Registration form.
During Password Registration a user is required to give their contact
information (such as a company affiliation, name, phone number and an E-mail
address). This information is used to contact the user about the services on
our site for which they have expressed interest, to allow them to participate
in product demonstrations, to allow them to access licensed information, and to
register to be included in our iNet Supplier Information Management Service
directory. Personal demographic information (such as income level and gender),
and unique identifiers (such as social security number), is not solicited.
Supplier Registration and Supplementation of Information
In the Supplier section of our Web site and our affiliated Web sites, client
businesses may register to be included in our iNet Supplier Information
Management Service directory. Our iNet Supplier Sourcing Service directory is
licensed to third parties, public and private buying organizations for the
purpose of identifying qualified suppliers. During Supplier Registration, an
information profile about a business entity is provided for acceptance in iNet
Supplier Information Management Service directory. The iNet Supplier
Information Management Service directory is used by purchasing entities to
source and qualify suppliers based on characteristics determined at the
discretion of these third party licensees. Austin-Tetra and our affiliated
third party licensees are not under any obligation to business entities
registering on our Supplier Registration Web site or affiliated Web sites and
may or may not at their option contact registrants regarding potential supply
relationships. Registration at our Web site or one of our affiliated Web sites
does not guarantee registrants that their company will be identified,
contacted, evaluated, or selected to enter any business relationships with
Austin-Tetra or an affiliated third party licensee.
Supplier Registration is generally voluntary, but may be required by Buyers as
a condition of doing business with that Buyer. We are not under any obligation
to accept a Supplier Registration and enter a company profile in our iNet
Supplier Information Management Service directory, but may include such
Supplier Registrations in directories associated with specific Buyers. By using
this site, Suppliers agree to maintain the identification of which Suppliers do
business with Buyers and any Buyer-specific data obtained by Suppliers as
Confidential Information of the Buyer. We reserve the right to add Suppliers to
the iNet Supplier Information Management Service directory from Buyer-specific
directories. Upon completion of a registration form, we review the suppliers
business information and compare it to that of business information received
about the company from other public and private business information sources
and under our sole discretionary judgment determines if we are going to accept
its registration for entry in our iNet Supplier Information Management Service
directory. If a Supplier Registration is submitted at this Web site, or one of
our affiliated Web sites, and is accepted for entry, the registration profile
is placed in our iNet Supplier Information Management Service directory. We
consider the information received directly from a Supplier Registration form to
be the most current and accurate available and it supercedes that of similar
information received from other public and private business information sources
unless the Supplier Registration profile has not been updated in the last 365
days. If company information has not been updated in 365 days, we will attempt
to notify the company via the primary contact name given to us during
registration by E-mail or other mail service and request updated Supplier
Registration information. If a Supplier Registration at this Web site, or one
of our affiliated Web sites is not accepted for entry in our iNet Supplier
Information Management Service directory we will notify the company at the
E-mail address given to us during Password Registration. Austin-Tetra reserves
the right to reject any Supplier Registration for any reason and does not have
any obligation to any user or business entity. If we have trouble processing a
Supplier Registration form, the contact information received during Password
Registration will be used to get in touch with the company.
Information Collection and Use
Austin-Tetra is the sole owner of the business profile and personal information
collected on our Web site www.austintetra.com
and affiliated Web sites we provide. We will not license, sell, share, or rent
this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this
statement. Austin-Tetra collects personal and business information from our
users at several different points on our Web site.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing
information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any
personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes
their browser, the cookie simply terminates and remains on the user's hard
drive until our site is entered again. For example, like many Web sites, we use
"cookies," and we obtain certain types of information when your Web browser
accesses austintetra.com. Cookies enable us to track and target the interests
of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Examples of the information
we collect and analyze include the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to
connect your computer to the Internet; login; E-mail address; password;
computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating
system, and platform; the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to,
through, and from our Web site, including date and time; and cookie number. For
example, one instance of our setting a cookie on a user computer is the user
can "opt" to not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time
while on our site. The "help" portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell
how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser
notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether.
If a user rejects our cookie, they may use our Web sites on a limited basis.
The primary drawback to rejecting our cookie is that the user will not be able
to complete Password or Supplier Registration or access the iNet Supplier
Information Management Service directory.
We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with
us. However, cookies allow you to take full advantage of the features of our
Web sites, and we recommend that you leave them turned on.
Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer Web sites, track user's
movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP
addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Sharing
We will share aggregated information with our affiliated third party licensees
and partners. This aggregated information is not linked to any personal or
business information that can identify any individual person or business
entity.
When necessary or appropriate, Austin-Tetra may disclose information in
response to a court order or subpoena or when otherwise legally required. We
may also disclose information if appropriate to protect our Web site or our
legal rights.
Links
This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that Austin-Tetra
and our affiliates are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other
sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read
the Privacy Policy of each and every Web site that collects personally
identifiable information and make an independent decision on whether to
proceed. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by Web
sites we operate.
Security
At all of our Web sites we take every precaution to protect our users' and
clients' information. When users submit sensitive information via our Web
sites, their information is protected both online and offline.
When our registration profile form asks users to enter sensitive information
about your company (such as Tax Identification Number, contact names and
addresses, and annual sales), that information is encrypted and is protected
with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure
page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such
as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as
opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do
everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users'
information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted
in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific
job (for example, our iNet customer service representative) are granted access
to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use
password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return,
they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to your information.
Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy
practices. Periodically, as well as any time new policies are added, our
employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on
privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers' information is
protected. Finally, the servers that we store personal and business information
on are kept in a secure locked environment.
If you have any questions about the security at our Web site or that of our
affiliate Web sites, you can send an E-mail to
security@austintetra.com.
Product and Service Offers
To help us process your information, we often receive a confirmation when you
register for password or update Supplier Registration information. Information,
including contact E-mail addresses submitted during registration, is provided
to large buying organizations so they may contact registrants directly.
We send all new users a welcoming E-mail to verify their password and username.
Registered users will occasionally receive information on products and
services. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to
not receive these types of communications. If we do not present the option to
not receive these types of communications it is because we have determined in
advance that we will not be contacting these registered users information on
products and services. Please see our "Users Choice to Opt-out" statement
below. We make every effort to avoid sending unnecessary messages to our
clients and affiliates.
Site and Service Updates
We send user site and service announcement updates. Users are not able to
un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information
about the service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services
and in regards to issues relating to their registration account via E-mail or
phone.
Correcting and Updating Registration Information
If a user's identifiable information changes (such as an E-mail address), or if
a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to
correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us. E-mailing
our Customer Support at clientsvc@austintetra.com
can usually do this.
If Supplier Registration information changes, users are urged to update their
company profile information on a timely basis and at a minimum once yearly.
User's can easily update their company profile by entering the Supplier
Registration section of our Web site or that of the affiliate where the user
registered previously and select the "Update Existing Profile" button at the
start of the registration process.
Users who no longer wish to receive our promotional materials may opt-out of
receiving marketing communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject
line in the E-mail or by sending an E-mail to clientsvc@austintetra.com.
Users of our site are not notified when their Supplier Registration profile
information is being reviewed and collected by a third party licensee. We are
in the business of licensing Supplier Registration business and contact
information and our licensees have access to contact names and E-mail addresses
that are provided to us during Supplier Registration. Our license agreements
restrict the use of Supplier Registration business and contact information to
that of its intent, sourcing qualified suppliers. Supplier Registration
information is intended for this purpose only and is not to be used for
marketing purposes by third party licensees other than marketing solicitations
related to purchasing program participation and activities. If you believe you
have received a solicitation from a third party licensee in violation of our
Privacy Policy we would like you to notify us by E-mail at
privacy@austintetra.com so we may investigate and take appropriate
action.
Users Choice to Opt-out
Our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their information
used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask
for the information. For example, our order form has an 'opt-out' mechanism so
users who register with us, but don't want any marketing material, can keep
their E-mail address off of our lists. If we do not present the option to
'opt-out' it is because we have determined in advance that we will not be
sending these registered users marketing material.
Users who no longer wish to receive our promotional materials or promotional
materials from our affiliates and partners may opt-out of receiving marketing
communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the E-mail or
by sending an E-mail to clientsvc@austintetra.com.
If you believe you
have received a solicitation from a third party licensee in violation of our
Privacy Statement we would like you to notify us by E-mail at
privacy@austintetra.com so we may investigate and take appropriate
action.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our
Web site and affiliated Web sites so users are always aware of what information
we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, about how we
disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable
information, Password Registration or Supplier Registration business and
contact information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was
collected, we would notify users by way of an E-mail. Users will have a choice
as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will
use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the
information was collected.
Conditions of Use, Notices, and Revisions
