Market embraces data management, spurring 70 percent revenue growth at Austin-Tetra

Global data management firm expects even larger increases over next several years

Irving, Texas - April 11, 2006 -It doesn't just take money to make money. Today more companies are investing in third party information service providers and their tools to create major cost savings as well. For proof look no further than Austin-Tetra, where increased interest in the company's business data management solutions contributed to a 70 percent increase in revenue for the first quarter of 2006, compared to the same time period in 2005.

The firm also turned in its third consecutive record-setting quarter in terms of revenue, thanks in part to the doubling of Austin-Tetra's sales force and marketing initiatives.

"Our customers are dramatically impacting their businesses through supplier and customer data management," said Phil Berkebile, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Austin-Tetra. "In general, the marketplace is learning to leverage data more effectively. The results can be translated directly into savings, lower risks, improved revenue and profitability - all the result of better business decisions."

Austin-Tetra's supplier data management solutions include procurement, strategic sourcing, spend analysis and supplier diversity. In addition, the company attributes some of its steady growth to the immediate acceptance of its newly introduced customer data management solutions, which create full visibility into customers and prospects to support more effective sales and marketing interactions.

"Now that large organizations understand the powerful results created by effective supplier data management, they are ready to apply those same principles to customers and customer prospects," Berkebile said. "As we work to increase penetration by showing value across several functional areas with new and existing clients, we expect Austin-Tetra to experience even faster revenue growth in 2006 and the next several years to come."

At most companies, supplier and customer data is critical, but this information doesn't reside in a single, easy-to-use database. It lives in fragmented, disparate and inconsistent data silos at any number of locations, making it almost impossible to use effectively. Austin-Tetra brings this data together into a single solution, applies powerful technologies and builds on the data with additional intelligence. Austin-Tetra's global data management solutions are built on a proprietary global database including information on more than 50 million businesses gathered from more than 300 best-in-class information sources. Data includes corporate ownership linkage, industry and product categorization, business demographics, credit scoring, risk analysis and diversity status. More than 250 FORTUNE 1000 companies currently leverage this data to undertake a wide range of critical business activities, including enterprise-wide master data management, spend analysis, customer relationship management, risk mitigation, and compliance with governmental regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley.
